Public Procurement Study Visit to the Republic of Slovenia: Exchange of Experiences in E-Procurement

— Further development of the electronic public procurement system in Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of major activities planned in the third phase of the Programme for Strengthening Public Institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As in the previous implementation phase the programme’s main implementing partner in this activity is the Public Procurement Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PPA). In order to enhance capacity and bring additional experiences from countries that already went through the same process, a multi-disciplinary delegation comprised of four representatives of the PPA visited the Public Procurement Directorate within the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia from 19 until 21 June 2017. Ms Melika Alajbegović and Mr Admir Čebić as practitioners with legal background as well as Mr Dario Kihli and Mr Almin Vehabović from the PPA’s IT Unit were interested in general experiences and specific questions about the development process, implementation, authentication as well as in learning more about the system issues and integration of e-procurement with other systems. Mr Matjaž Uhan, Head of Department for Public Procurement and Mr Uroš Zlakar, Head of the Project for E-Procurement held a full-day presentation of practical cases and online implementation of several e-auction examples. The participating representatives of the Public Procurement Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina were very satisfied with the presented subjects and during the visit future cooperation with their Slovenian colleagues was envisaged.
